The game has been going through some changes recently ever since Zynga took over and it has gotten players fed up at
times.
The game starts out with you in getting a basic ability and it gives you an introduction much of what you'll be reading here in the next paragraph. There are also advanced abilities, but you can only get certain ones depending on what branch your basic abilities are on (there are 3 branches: matter, mental,
and physical). Learning more actions for your abilities or learning new abilities will cost you Ability points (AP).
You get 5 every level, then at level 15 you begin to get 10 every 5 levels. At level 15 you also get to go to free for all
zone (FFA) locations, but try to avoid them if you're a beginer because you'll only get knocked out by other users. At
level 25 you get to level up actions up to level 9 (yes, actions have levels too), then you can level up an action to level
10 when you are at level 50. Try not to waste you AP on certain actions, expecially ones that really won't help you in battles.
Certain abilities leave statuses, some good, some bad, and there's some that are somewhat in between. Good statuses
are called buffs, they can improve accuracy, evasion, exp, etc.
You can use your ability on fight Non-player characters (NPCs) to level up, learn more actions, and even more abilities.
You can also bring in some other friends to play with you on facebook and form a group or you can join one that already exists,
which is a great way to share exp and level up. You start the game in Midtown, NYC, but you get to travel around
to different locations to find different NPCs to fight. NYC has various things such as a fight club for level to level battling,
an airport to travel around the world, a pharmacy to get drinks to restore energy points (EP) and food to restore health points
(HP). Items will cost you Credits (Cr), which is the My Heroes Ability currency. Everyday you log in gives you 100cr,
knocking out certain NPCs gives you some too, and now you can also get some from a new feature called Missions.
You can build your hero any way you like. A typical npc hunter build which consists of precognition, superstrength,
pyrokinesis, and some others. Use precognition (it has high evasion) to buff yourself to increase accuracy and damage
given, pyrokinesis to burn enemy (increasing damage given), and level up the throw steel beam action of the super strength
ability (a powerful move that paralysizes your enemy, increasing your evasion). I personally think that's a waste of energy
and AP, not to mention that each ability is from a different branch of the ability tree. I'd personally go with just precognition
and leveling up the Inferno action of the pyrokinesis ability (or the blizzard action of the cyrokinesis ability)
which is great to use in midtown to knock out many NPCs at once, yet the downside is that if you make a mistake, you
are going to get attacked by many NPCs. A probably safer route to go with is just getting super speed and pyrokinesis,
leveling up rush and small flame. There are also other builds for specific interests like healing, buffing, FFA, or maybe
just to show off I guess :)
